CFCA’s Individual Sponsor Visit Program

Individual sponsor visits are an important part of the CFCA sponsorship program. The primary purpose of an individual visit is to nurture a caring and wholesome relationship between sponsors and their sponsored friends while supporting CFCA’s purpose of creating a worldwide community of compassion through personal outreach.

CFCA strives to be a tranquil presence in the lives of sponsored friends and deeply appreciates their families and the project staff as they graciously accept visitors on an individual basis.

In accordance with our child protection policies and out of respect for the schedules and prior commitments of our sponsored friends, their families and project staff, the following guidelines have been developed to help ensure a successful visit.

Scheduling an individual sponsor visit

All visits between sponsors and sponsored friends need to be coordinated through the Kansas City office.

Sponsors are asked to notify CFCA as soon as they decide to visit. We appreciate a 30-day prior notice whenever possible.

CFCA respects the holidays in each country and the calendar of activities for each project. Therefore, CFCA cannot schedule individual visits on dates the project has designated as unavailable. Out of respect for their schedules and prior commitments, all visits are arranged at the discretion of the project staff.

Sponsors need to complete and sign certain sponsor visit forms prior to the visit.

Cost
Sponsors are invited to help defray any costs related to the visit that are incurred at the project site.

Travel

Sponsors participating in an individual sponsor visit will need to make their own travel arrangements to one of the metropolitan areas designated by the project. Please wait to make travel arrangements until CFCA is able to confirm the dates of the visit with the project.

The Visit

Individual visits occur within normal project business hours and usually last no longer than one day.

The number of people involved in an individual sponsor visit should be limited so as not to detract from the ability to focus on the relationship between sponsor and sponsored friend. Participants on individual visits typically include the sponsor, the sponsored member and immediate family members.

CFCA project staff will be present for the entire visit.

All visitors will be required to adhere to CFCA policies and guidelines for individual sponsor visits.
