How you can help - sponsor

Open your heart to a child or aging friend

CFCA sponsorship is a one-to-one relationship based on mutual respect and recognition of every person's dignity. Sponsorship provides a unique opportunity to answer the Gospel call to serve the poor and to form a friendship with a child or aging person from another culture.

Millions of children and elderly struggle each day just to survive. Overcoming obstacles put in their way by poverty seems almost impossible. Yet there is hope - and you can make a difference by reaching out and opening your heart to a child or aging friend.

Become a sponsor and make a difference in someone's life

Sponsor a child

Through a sponsorship commitment of $30 monthly, you can give your new friend hope by helping with life-enhancing benefits such as food, clothing, medical care and the opportunity to go to school. Your friend will also be encouraged by the knowledge that someone cares.

Sponsor a teen

For $30 monthly, you can help a young person achieve his or her dreams. Older children often need help to complete their education so they don’t have to leave school to work—and there aren’t enough sponsors seeking to support an older child.

Sponsorship benefits both you and your sponsored friend

Sponsorship provides a chance for children and aging persons to achieve their desired potential, live with dignity and participate fully in their communities.

As a sponsor, you will learn about a new culture and come to understand your sponsored friend's needs. You will also be blessed with the opportunity to see your friend's gifts and potential. You can also participate in our mission awareness trips, so you can visit your sponsored friend and see firsthand the benefits of your sponsorship through CFCA.

This relationship of hope and encouragement is nurtured through prayer and letters. You will enjoy receiving personal letters and photos from your sponsored friend, and your friend will love to hear from you. We encourage you to write your sponsored friend as often as you wish. When necessary, your letter will be translated at the CFCA project serving your friend.

CFCA sponsorship lasts as long as your friend is in the program, or however long you choose to continue as a sponsor. The majority of sponsor relationships last many years, and have a lifelong impact.

Please note: CFCA does not post photos or other personal information about children or aging persons waiting to be sponsored in order to protect their privacy and the privacy of their families. This is in accordance with our child protection policies and also in keeping with our commitment to respecting the dignity of those we serve. At the same time, we know sponsors may wish to sponsor a child or aging person of a particular age, gender or country, and we do everything possible to honor those requests. Sponsors are invited to indicate special requests in the "other criteria" box when you sponsor online. Once your sponsorship has been established, you will receive a photo and family profile of your sponsored friend, the address of the CFCA project where you may write to your friend and other helpful information about your CFCA sponsorship.
