CFCA scholarship student volunteers teaching younger children

Scholarship Program

The CFCA Scholarship Program was created to help aspiring older youth and young adults pursue educational goals such as attending high school, vocational training or college. The scholarship program helps provide tuition and needed financial support. Students must maintain satisfactory grades and participate in service to their communities, often within local CFCA projects. Scholarship students provide valuable service hours to CFCA projects and serve as positive role models for younger children. CFCA wants to promote a commitment to service among youth by encouraging students who demonstrate a special interest in serving their communities. The scholarship program exists not only to assist deserving youth, but also to complement the community empowerment efforts of the sponsorship program. Please note that scholarships are awarded at the discretion of CFCA projects, and contributions cannot be designated for individual students. CFCA sends 100 percent of your Scholarship Fund contribution to our projects for scholarships.

Food Assistance Fund

In 2008, food prices around the world skyrocketed, dramatically affecting CFCA sponsored members and their families, who are living on extremely limited incomes and already struggle to obtain proper nutrition. Though prices have fallen from their peaks in early 2008, they are still high compared with previous years and are expected to remain high in the foreseeable future.

One hundred percent of contributions to the Food Assistance Fund are used by CFCA projects to either purchase life-sustaining food for families in greatest need, or to develop programs aimed at helping families achieve long-term food security. Funds donated are used where CFCA determines they are most needed.

Housing Fund

The CFCA Housing Fund is used to repair damaged homes or build new homes so that sponsored members may live in more adequate conditions. CFCA projects assess needs based on site visits and personal interviews. Amounts contributed to the housing fund are pooled and distributed to families identified as most in need. Housing needs may arise as a result of natural disasters such as typhoons, hurricanes, mudslides, floods and earthquakes; fires; wars; civil unrest; or conditions of extreme poverty. Contribute to Disaster Assistance Fund

Disaster Assistance Fund

In emergencies, such as natural disasters, CFCA accepts donations to provide additional financial support to our projects through the Disaster Assistance Fund. Donations received help address the emergency and long-term needs of sponsored members and their families. The fund has been used to help with relief and recovery efforts following earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, floods and mudslides. One hundred percent of donations to this fund are sent to CFCA projects to help individuals and families affected by disasters. Funds donated are used where they are most needed, and CFCA retains discretion as to the use of the funds. Click here to contribute.

Healthy Communities Fund

Livelihood Program Fund

Contributions to the Livelihood Program Fund are used by our field projects to support programs that help CFCA families earn a living. These programs can teach family members a marketable skill, such as sewing, tailoring, baking or farming. They can provide seed capital for microloan funds available to CFCA mothers and fathers starting or expanding small businesses. Or the programs can provide CFCA families with livestock or seedlings for sustainable agriculture projects. Funds donated are used to support various livelihood programs in CFCA projects. Contributions cannot be designated through this fund for individual families.
