Statement of the Board Chairperson, Scott Wasserman
Governance and management were positively impacted when the board adopted Dr. John Carver's model of governance. CFCA has clearly defined the role of the board and staff, which keeps the staff accountable to the board. The board determines the ends and staff determines the means to achieve the ends. The role of the board is to set limits on the means. Integrity, accountability and clear communication are responsibilities of any well-managed board.

In Memory
	Michael Farmer, who joined the CFCA board of directors in 2002, passed away on Nov. 7, 2007. “Gratitude and joy well up in my heart when I remember Michael and the gift that he is to CFCA and to so many,” said Paco Wertin, chief executive officer. “He demonstrated servant leadership, engaging in conversations that helped keep the CFCA governing board focused and forward moving."
