Updated: March 14, 2011
The tsunami that devastated Japan caused some flooding in parts of Latin America but no major damage, according to recent news reports.
So far no sponsored members or their families appear to have been affected.
An 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck Japan on Friday, causing a tsunami that has killed thousands of people. Rescue efforts are still under way as the death toll continues to climb.
CFCA communities in the Philippines and Ecuador evacuated families living in coastal areas during the weekend as a precaution.
Other CFCA communities in coastal areas of Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Peru and Chile were also placed on alert.
Please keep the people of Japan and all those affected by the tsunami in your prayers.
