Sponsored friends receive aid after Philippine fire
February 16, 2011
MANILA – Twenty-eight CFCA families are getting help with food, water and other immediate needs after a fire occurred Feb. 14 in Quezon City.
The fire burned for five hours Monday night through Tuesday morning and rendered about 2,000 families homeless, according to a news report from the Philippine Star.
The 28 affected families whom CFCA serves are living temporarily in a government-designated evacuation center or with relatives and members of CFCA neighborhood cell groups, said Jayson Oabel, CFCA-Manila staff member in Quezon City.
"Our project office has extended emergency assistance to these families," Oabel said, listing food, drinking water and hygienic supplies.
Oabel also said that local CFCA neighborhood cell groups are providing material and moral support for those affected by the fire.
Please join the CFCA community in keeping the affected families in your thoughts and prayers.
