December 6, 2010

MEDELLIN, Colombia – Several families with sponsored members served by CFCA’s Madre Paula project have been driven out of their homes after heavy rains damaged or threatened their communities.

In Colombia

A news report from CNN indicates the deluge has affected more than 1 million Colombians nationwide.

Landslides and rivers overflowing from the rains have destroyed an estimated 1,800 houses and damaged up to 200,000 homes across the country, according to the report.

CNN also reported that a landslide Sunday in the suburbs of Medellin, Colombia, buried at least 50 homes. The CFCA project reported that no sponsored members or their families were affected by the landslide.

CFCA is awaiting further information from the projects regarding the needs of sponsored members and their families.

Please keep the people of Colombia in your prayers during this time.
