CFCA remembers 9 children lost in mudslides

Nine sponsored children in Guatemala were killed in mudslides following heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Agatha May 29. The sponsors of these children have been notified.
The CFCA community has suffered a terrible loss, and we are deeply grateful for your prayers and donations in support of helping the surviving sponsored members and their families rebuild in the storm’s aftermath.
Eight of the children who died were served by CFCA’s Atitlan project. The deceased sponsored children were Adolfo Angel Sicay Choguaj, 8; sisters Doris Elena Guoz Chuc, 6, and Mirna Fabiola Guoz Chuc, 16; Rosario Nimacachi Cumez, 18; sisters Olga Perez Lopez, 9, and Paulina Perez Lopez, 11; Gustavo Edward Sicajan Perez, 8; and Rodolfo Antonio Diaz Sicajan, 12.
The other child killed, Julian Sepet Guitz, 12, was from CFCA’s Hermano Pedro project.

Donations support relief and recovery efforts following earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, fires, floods and mudslides.
