CFCA ranked on Forbes list of largest U.S. nonprofits

December 22, 2009

KANSAS CITY, Kan. ― Christian Foundation for Children and Aging was among the 200 largest U.S. charities included in the 2009 Forbes Magazine annual list of top nonprofits.

While Forbes reports that many charities showed a loss for the year, CFCA experienced an increase in revenue for 2009 over 2008 in spite of a weakened national economy.

CFCA maintained close to last year’s Forbes ratings, ranking as the 117th largest charity in the United States in terms of private support, down from 111 in 2008. In terms of total revenue, CFCA ranked as the 143rd largest charity.

In the category of “Charitable Commitment,” CFCA ranked 39th among the top 200, up two spots from 2008. In “Fundraising Efficiency,” CFCA also maintained its position from 2008, ranking 51st in the top 200.

Maintaining a top rating in a challenging economy reflects the high level of commitment of CFCA sponsors to their sponsored friends. It also affirms CFCA’s continued commitment to assign the highest reasonable amount of available resources to the direct benefit of sponsored members.
